9/11 Heroic Teams

Dear world,
Today is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. All around the nation, there are special tributes to honor the heroes of 9/11. While all are equally important, I want to highlight the 9/11 Working Dog Recognition Ceremony being held today in New Jersey honoring over 1000 working dog teams who served in response to the terrorist attacks . These teams were involved in search and rescue and security at Ground Zero, the Pentagon, Shanksville and the Fresh Kills landfill recovery site. They have never been fully honored. And while I cant be at the ceremony today, I want to personally thank, pay tribute and send BearHUGs to these heroic teams.

Love always,

Bear

  1. Nice tribute pal. Those heroic teams saved so many lives at the risk of losing their own.

  4. Thank you Bear for the tribute to all of the hero dogs. They helped so much in the search and in many, many cases were just there for people that needed a hug or just to be near someone.

  6. One of your Golden cousins is on the poster! You tell us about some important things we'd never know about otherwise. We're looking forward to Charlotte Dumas' book, Retrieved, about the dogs who worked on 9/11. Some of them are still alive, enjoying their retirement years. Thanks and love from all of us...the RainbowCatsx8.
