Dear world,
Today commemorates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., an iconic leader in the advancement of civil rights in the U.S. and around the world. On April 4, 1968 when visiting Memphis, he was assassinated on the balcony of his room at the Lorraine Motel (now the National Civil Rights Museum). So I went to the Lorraine Motel to pay my tribute and thank Dr. King for his legacy of hope and inspiration.
Love always,
Bear

ReplyDeleteMLK came to my Mom's high school in Detroit that year and she wanted to go see him, but her parents were afraid that there might be violence. So they did not let her go hear him speak. They weren't too far off, but Mom still sorry she missed it.
ReplyDeleteAwwww-that's so sweet :(
