Birthday Party

Dear world,
I had the best party for my birthday. Mom only made us wear hats at the start. Then when my poodle friends Hannah and Sadie arrived, the festivities began. Mom lifted the Scooby pinata in the air. All of us smelled the yummies but we didn't know how to reach it or open it. Then Sydne pulled the strings at the bottom and tons of cookies came flying out ! It was literally a free for all! Then we had cake! I couldn't resist it and almost burnt my nose on the candles! What a great birthday. Now I think I need to nap for a week.

Birthday Pizza

Dear world,
For my birthday yesterday I got lots of presents. But my favorite was my birthday pizza. I was really patient while Mom did a photoshoot of me with my birthday loot. But how long did she really expect me to sit next to a pizza pie? I held out as long as I could. Sorry Mom. YUM!

10 Years Old !

Dear world,
Today is my birthday. I am 10 years old. Wow, that is a decade ! But I feel like I am a single digit. Other than my distinguished partially white face, everyone thinks I am much younger. And I have had no work done! Anyway, I will be celebrating all weekend. Happy Birthday to me!

Samuel Adams

Dear world,
Today is Samuel Adams birthday, born in 1722. He was an American statesman, one of the Founding Fathers of the US, and as a colonial Massachusetts politician, was a leader of the American Revolution  He was also a brewer! Sounds like he was a really great guy! So it is really cool that there is a famous beer (and beer company) named after him.
 To Sam! Cheers!

Bacon and Egg

Dear world,
Mom is already planning for Halloween. So she thought it would be fun if Rosy and I would wear a costume together. Neither of us were thrilled about the idea, but we figured we should go along with it to make Mom happy. And then we saw the costumes. Bacon and Egg. Seriously Mom?

iPhone 5

Dear world,
A package came to the door yesterday. I had to check it out...Wow! an iPhone 5 ! Rosy asked what was so special about it. I know her feet have been in the sand, but has her head been in the sand too? Wait a minute.Do you think Mom got this for me as a surprise for my birthday next week?

Who wore it best ?

Dear world,
With all the talk of the new Great Gatsby movie, both Rosy and Bunnybell chose the same flapper dress. They asked me who looks better. I was not going there! So I thought I would do what magazines do and ask my readers... who wore it best ... Rosy or Bunnybell?

Paddleboarding

Dear world,
I have noticed that paddleboarding is a big thing nowadays. The other day on my walk I saw paddleboarders paddle right by me. That got me to thinking. Would I want to go paddleboarding? Nah, I don't think so. If I am going to be in the water, I want to be swimming and fetching my ball. However, I could swim beside a paddleboarder. Let me know if you or one of your friends need paddle company.

Large Popcorn

Dear world.
Yesterday, Mom and Dad went to the movies. I really wanted to go with them, but as usual, since I am a canine, I am not allowed inside. But that got me to thinking. Could I put on a disguise and sneak into the theater? If I go as a large popcorn, do you think I would get in?

Felt Hat Day

Dear world,
My niece Bunnybell really loves visiting us in San Diego. It means beach trips and lots of treats. However, it also means contending with Mom's desire to dress us up for any excuse. So Bunnybell dressed up with Rosy for Felt Hat Day . I was able to sit this one out since I wear different types of hats all year round.
Happy Felt Hat Day !

Wrinkles

Dear world,
Then other day at the beach we met a trio of Shar-peis. They were very nice They just hung out and watched everyone else. When Rosy saw them she was aghast ! She asked me "how old are those dogs? They have so many wrinkles?" I explained that is the way the dogs are born, they just have wrinkles. Then Rosy went over to them and asked if they ever heard of Botox.

Package for me

Dear world,
The other day I blogged about how I wish some of the packages that came to the door were for me. Yesterday there was a big box and I got excited cause Mom said there was stuff for me! And when we opened it and I looked inside I said "Uh Oh..." Costumes ! Well, I guess now I understand that saying "be careful what you wish for".

Tribute in Light

Dear world,
Today is the 11th anniversary of 9/11. Every year, the twin beacons of Tribute in Light beam up from the former site of the Twin Towers in Manhattan as a powerful memorial to the victims of 9/11. I wish I could go to New York and see it myself. I live in California, so I can't. But I still want to pay my respects and honor all of those who were lost, as well as those who worked so hard in the aftermath.

Attending the Surf-A-Thon

Dear world,
This morning was the annual Dog Surf-a-Thon at the Dog Beach. (See report from last year).) It was fun to watch dogs surf. Rosy was having a hard time seeing, so she decided to borrow the lifeguards vehicle. Then I met this nice girl Kennedy who wanted to play ball with me. Of course I obliged. I had fun swimming for the ball and dodging the surfers.
Congrats to all winning surfing dogs and great job to all who competed !

Corgi Thief

Dear world,
Awhile ago, I told you about Bonnie and Clyde, the Corgis that wouldn't stop herding me. Well now I am here to tell you about Emma, the master ball thief. Mom was playing ball with Rosy and I. We each had our own balls and were perfectly happy. But then Emma came along. She had her own ball but insisted on stealing mine and Rosy's each time we dropped them in front of Mom! What is it with Corgis?

SpiderBear

Dear world,
As if deciding which Superhero was best for me between Captain Bearmerica and ThorBear wasnt hard enough, now I have to add SpiderBear as a choice. I decided not to wear the gloves or boots. So I dont think I will be able to cling to any surface nor shoot spider webs. But at least I can still play ball in this outfit. So I like being SpiderBear best.

Rocket & Buster

Dear world,
The other day at the beach I met two new friends, Rocket and Buster. I wasn't surprised when Buster, the black lab came right in the ocean with me crashing through the big waves. But when Rocket, the Great Dane came jumping in swimming for the ball, it really surprised me. It also made the waves look a lot smaller.

Thanks to the Rosies

Dear world,
Since it is Labor Day weekend, I thought we should honor someone representing labor. So Rosy suggested that we honor “the Rosies” – over 6 million American women that worked at industrial jobs that challenged traditional thinking of women's capabilities and whose dedicated productive service, helped to win WWII. These ladies are symbolized by Rosie the Riveter and left a lasting legacy of equal employment opportunity and support for child care. Thanks to all the Rosies !
