FuzzBuzz: New Year's Eve Party

Dear world,
Bear planned such a nice party for us. He has all matching fancy decorations and hats. He even has glasses and champagne. I want to get wild cause it is New Year's Eve. Bear said we will still need to behave. I need to make sure I will have poop bags for Bear the party pooper. Oh well. Happy New Year!

Catch the ball!

Dear world,
Tomorrow night is New Year's Eve. It got me to thinking. Wouldn't it be the coolest thing to celebrate with Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest in Time's Square in New York City? Then I would be right there when the ball drops. I think that is very appropriate for me. It could be my job to catch it!

Has Mom gone too far?

Dear world,
I think Mom may have gone too far this time. She got Rosy a coat for when its cold. That I understand. But then Mom came home with hats for Fuzz and I that coordinated with Rosy's coat. Does she really expect Fuzz and I to wear these hats when we take our walks in the cold? Well, I know she wouldn't expect Fuzz to, but I really hope this is just for the photo opportunity today. Please cross your paws for me.

A Carrying Case

.
Dear world,
Mom came home with a bag the other day. I told her it didn't look very fashionable. She explained it was a carrier for Rosy. So Rosy got in and Mom carried her upstairs. Then Rosy stayed in it even after Mom opened it. In fact she stayed in it all morning. Why? Rosy said she is practicing just in case Mom wants to take her on a trip. Would Mom would take Rosy on a trip without me? No way. I wonder when Mom will be bringing home a carrying case for me.

Newly Acquired Wings

Dear world,
I tried to warn Rosy that when she became a member of the family, she would be subjected to dress up. She said, she is a girl and is happy to dress up. I said OK, but don't say I didn't warn you. So yesterday, Mom decided Rosy should be a pink butterfly. I tried real hard not to laugh. She looked at me for help, and I told her I warned her. Good thing that Mom took the pics quick because Rosy was ready to fly away with her newly acquired wings.

Proud Sponsor

Dear world,
For Christmas, we did get some toys and treats. But our favorite presents were sponsorships of dogs at Best Friends Animal Society. Rosy got a dog named Poodle Pop and Fuzz got a dog named Lassy. I am the proud sponsor of three Bears: Cinnamon Bear, Wooley Bear and Pinky Bear. We are taking our sponsor roles very seriously and will follow their progress. Lassy and PinkyBear are ready for adoption.... will you please adopt our dogs?

A Christmas Wish

Dear world,
I told Santa that I really did not need any toys because I have so much already. My wish instead is for is for him to bring warm loving forever homes to all the cats and dogs that need one. And while they are waiting, to make sure the animals are safe and will not come to any harm. I really hope Santa can do that for me, I have been a very good boy.
Merry Christmas. Hope all good wishes come true.

FuzzBuzz: Twuzz the Nite Before Christmas

Dear world,
I was really good for the Santa photo shoot. I figured, that is one guy you don't want to piss off. So I hope Santa remembers that I did not give anyone any aggravation and I looked at the camera man when I was supposed to. And since I took such a good picture, I really hope Santa brings me the curly treats that are my favorite. Well, I will leave this picture on the mantle over the fireplace as a reminder to Santa.

Bunny Mouse

Dear world,
Mom did not want her granddog Bunny to be left out of the dress up festivities just because she lives in California. So Mom got her holiday mouse ears. Bunny sent me the picture. I thought she looked very cute. I suggested that she tell her Mom to take her to Disneyland. She could be a new character. BunnyMouse.

A stray horse?

Dear world,
I was reading my friend Thunder's blog the other day. He posted a beautiful picture of his brother Chase, who is a horse. It got me to thinking. Wouldn't it be so cool to have a horse sibling? Fuzz is the size of a small horse, but that doesn't count. And anyway, Fuzz wants a horse too. Mom said, no, we can't have a horse. But that is what she said about a third dog, and we found Rosy. So maybe we will find a stray horse on our walk one day in the neighborhood. Then she couldn't say no. Right?

P.S. Here is Thunder's blog link. Isn't Chase handsome? http://dogthundersblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/long-time-no-write.html

Weather Forecast

Dear world,
Rosy has quite the wardrobe. Besides her pretty collars and leashes, she has three coats. These are quite functional obviously for her. But these coats are also very functional for me. You see, depending on which coat Mom puts on Rosy, I know what the weather is like outside. No need to listen to the weatherman on TV when I have Rosy.

Can Santa Fit?

Dear world,
I saw Santa the other day and it got me to thinking. Santa is pretty fat, so how does he get down chimneys? I looked up my chimney and I don't think he will fit in mine. Fuzz says he can fit down any chimney around the world. Maybe he has some magic power that makes him skinny when he needs to be. I could use that power when I go to the vet and get weighed.

Let it Snow!

Dear world,
Until recently, I lived in Southern California so I never saw it snow. And I keep hearing about snow from my friends. And then I hear songs about snow. So last night I went to sleep thinking that I really hope it will snow in Memphis. And then I dreamed that I was a snowflake! And so was Fuzz, Rosy and Bunnybell ! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

Princess Claus

Dear world,
Rosy has this new habit of stealing my ball. Usually when she does, Mom takes it away from her and gives it back to me. But this time Mom didnt. Now just because she looks totally adorable as Princess Claus, doesnt mean she should be allowed to have my ball. Mommmm!

Yogi BearBear

Dear world,
Today the new Yogi Bear movie comes out. Yogi was one of my Mom's favorite characters as a child. She even called her sister Boo Boo. When it came to naming me, Mom & Dad wanted to keep my rescue name Bear. But Mom wanted to add to it like...TeddyBear, or Yogi Bear. Dad did not agree, so hence I am BearBear. But imagine if I was named Yogi Bear. Then maybe I could have gone to see JellyStone Park. But I guess I will just have to wait till it comes out on DVD. Unless... Mom, will you take me to a drive in?

Where Are My Pajamas?

Dear world,
I just remembered what I bought myself for Christmas last year... Pajamas! At that time, we lived in San Diego, so everyone thought it was just a photo op and I would never wear my pajamas. But it has been quite cold here in Memphis, so I think I will go look for them in the closet with all the boxes. And I hope I can find my eye mask as well. I don't want my eyeballs to get cold.

A Talk with Rosy

Dear world,
I had to have a talk with Rosy the other day. She was starting to whine a bit about all the dress up photo shoots. She said she doesn't mind dressing up, but the photo shoots take so long. I explained that when Mom is trying to get the three of us it takes longer mostly cause of Fuzz. Rosy asked why Mom doesn't just do Fuzz separately and photoshop him in. Hmmm. Rosy is pretty smart. Why didn't Mom think of that?

Ski Trip

Dear world,
I found out that my neighbors are going on a ski trip soon. It sounds like so much fun. I asked Mom why we don't go on a ski trip. She said maybe someday. OK, so that means never. So it got me to thinking. If Fuzz and I put on ski caps and waited outside, maybe our neighbors would get the hint and ask us to join them. We're still waiting.

Another Retriever!

Dear world,
The first month Rosy was here, I thought she was very sweet and very much a lap dog princess. However, last week I found out that somewhere in that little body, she is also a retriever! And she is real quick I hate to admit that she is hard to keep up with! I always thought Fuzz was going to be my fetch pal, but it looks like Rosy wants that role. Ok. So we have a Toy Poodle Retriever. Nice mix.

Candy Cane Guild

Dear world,
We watched the Wizard of Oz the other day and were inspired by the Munchkins and their lollipop guild song. So Fuzz, Rosy and I decided to sing the tune but adapt our own lyrics...

We represent the Candy Cane Guild, the Candy Cane Guild, the Candy Cane Guild.

And in the name of the Candy Cane Guild...

We welcome you to Memphis Land.

Santa's workshop

Dear world,
When Bunnybell was visiting, I promised her and Rosy that I would go with them to see Santa's workshop. Mom said she would take us there as long as we wore our elf outfits. Rosy and Bunnybell look adorable and they are the right size. And then there is me. A big Elf Bear. And I didn't even get any toys out of it. Santa said they weren't ready yet.

FuzzBuzz: Modeling Compensation

Dear world,
Yesterday, was yet another one of Mom's holiday photo shoots. We actually had to do four straight! And there were not even cookies involved. I asked Bear why we aren't getting paid somehow. Bear said to remember that we are on weight watchers so we cant have extra cookies. And we do these shoots for two reasons. The first is to make Mom happy because she makes us happy. The second is for my blog posts. And part of my job as his employee, I am required to participate. Oh.

Welcome Bear

Dear world,
There is a new bear at my house. He is holding a welcome sign. Why is he the family greeter? He is so stiff. He doesn't talk, no less bark. I think that Fuzz, Rosy and I should be the welcoming committee instead. We could even have shifts for being outside and holding up the sign. Wait, that would mean at least 4 hours for each of us to stand alone outside. That is not appealing. Never mind. Now I understand why this welcome bear was hired.

Holiday Slippers

Dear world,
Mom got Dad a nice pair of slippers last week and he loves them. So I guess that is what gave her the idea to get me and Fuzz slippers. I told her we can't wear slippers. She said we can if we are laying down. So that's what we did. We laid down and put on our holiday slippers. And for some more holiday spirit, she had us put our antlers on. And as she was taking the pictures, Fuzz and I said, Mom, this is really dumb. She told us we were lucky we didn't have to wear the matching robes.

A New Band

Dear world,
Since I live in Memphis now, I was thinking I should start a band. None of us play the piano, so Mom got me some instruments. I chose the xylophone and gave Fuzz the Maracas. We started practicing and then Rosy wanted to join as the lead singer. Fuzz figured while Rosy practiced, he could take a nap. We are still deciding on a name for our band. We would welcome any ideas.

A Christmas Tree

Dear world,
Its that time of year for families to go and get a Christmas tree. But what does my Mom do? She decides that I should be a tree! So there I am in the spot where the tree is supposed to be. She even put red and green beads on me which I guess were supposed to be garlands. I really hope she doesn't decide to put lights on me.

Princess in training

Dear world,
It has only been a month since we have had Rosy and I think she already needs her own closet. She has 5 new collars, 3 leashes, 5 name tags, 1 scarf, 2 coats and a sweater on order. And that doesn't include the holiday stuff. Oh yah, and of course, Mom just found her the the tiara, which is perfectly fitting. After all she is in training to be a princess...Princess Rosy. Does that mean I am already a prince?

Blog Material

Dear world,
Yesterday I saw my mom rummaging through these bags of stuff. I thought it was Christmas presents. And then I went over and looked closer. Uh Oh. Looks like clothes and props for holiday photo shoots for me, Fuzz and Rosy. Fuzz is not going to be too happy about this. Not sure what Rosy is going to think. Which got me to thinking. How do I feel about it? Well, I guess I really should not mind because it gives me lots of material for my blog posts. So it is just something I need to do for my career as a blogger.

FuzzBuzz: Matching hats

Dear world,
I saw this hat for sale on line that I thought would make such a great present for my Mom. Wouldn't it be so cool for Mom and I to have matching hats for when the weather gets real cold? But I haven't earned enough money this year to buy it for my Mom. I asked Dad and he wouldn't give me the money for it cause he thought it was silly. Bear wouldn't lend me the money because he said I should be investing it. Oh well. I guess it will be a missed photo opportunity.

Magic table

Dear world,
When I go to the vet, I get to go up on this magic table. It is low to the floor and then I jump on it and it rises up. It is so cool because I get to see the world from a human's perspective, at least one the height of Mom. It is very odd because I don't really see feet, that is unless I look down. And I don't need to look up to look at people's faces because there they are right in front of me. I wish this table was like a magic carpet that could move me about so I could expand this perspective.

Happy Chanukah!

Dear world,
Today is the first day of Chanukah. So I asked Mom to tell us the story. Well, there was this real cool guy Judah the Maccabee. He and his buds bravely reclaimed a temple from the Syrian King (who was a bad guy). When they wanted to relight the eternal flame in the temple, they only had enough oil for one day. Bummer! But miraculously it lasted for eight days! Yeay! So that's why we light a candle for eight days! (I knew there had to be some reason other than eight gifts). Actually, I am hoping for lots of Hanukkah gelt (money) for my piggy bank. Well, Happy Chanukah everyone... bring on the Potato Latkes!

Night guard

Dear world,
As head of security, Fuzz has decided to hire Rosy as Dad's night bodyguard. She is really good at her job. She lays down at the foot of the bed while Dad sleeps. If she hears any noise, she will bark. If anyone tries to come near him she growls and shows her teeth. So now, Fuzz can take off at night and sleep soundly knowing that the job is handled. Good hire Fuzz!

On Golden Pile

Dear world,
On my walks, I get to see so many pretty color trees. Mom and Dad love the red and orange ones. But yesterday, Mom was inspired by the golden color ones to take some pictures of me (it doesn't take much to inspire her to get the camera). Anyway, she made me pose in a big pile of golden leaves covering the street. Click. Click. Click. So here I am. A Golden on Golden Pile.

Dogwalk Empire

Dear world,
Every Sunday Mom and Dad watch Boardwalk Empire. They really love the show. So it got me to thinking. What if I had lived in the 1920's? I wouldn't have cared about prohibition cause I don't drink. But would I have been a mobster? Would I have worked for someone like Nucky Thompson? Or would I have been a powerful kingpin myself? Hmmm... Bear's DogWalk Empire. Doesn't that sound swell?

Go West Young Fuzz

Dear world,
My walks this week were extra fun with Sydne and BunnyBell. All of us would go walking together like a real pack. We always start with Fuzz deciding on the route, Rosy running up in the lead, BunnyBell lagging behind, and me following along in the middle. But now we are back to three again since Sydne and BunnyBell went back to California yesterday. I am sad because I don't think I will see them again until the Spring. Maybe I will suggest to Fuzz that we walk West headed toward California. I wonder how long it would take to get there.

FuzzBuzz: Eat and Sleep

Dear world,
This week I got to spend time with my human sister Sydne who is visiting from Los Angeles. I really like her. Yesterday she was wrestling with me. Rosy came around barking cause she was afraid I was going to eat Sydne. I tried to explain that we were just playing. After all the play and barking, Sydne and I got tired and took a nap. Life is good, especially with Sydne here. Maybe I could keep her as my full time sister and send Rosy to L.A.

Happy Thanksgiving

Dear world,
Today is Thanksgiving in America. Fuzz and I have a lot to be thankful for. We are thankful for our forever family who we love so much, especially eachother since we became brothers this year. We are thankful that we are so well taken care of. We are thankful for all that is given to us. Well, maybe except for these turkey hats.

A Name for All Seasons

Dear world,
Growing up in Southern California, I did not experience seasons like I have in Memphis this year. I never really understood why Autumn was also called Fall. It is the only season I think that has two names. But now I get it. It is Autumn now, and everyday more and more leaves fall, hence, the name Fall. Pretty clever. I wonder what the nickname of winter is or should be... Freeze? And then should Spring also be called Thaw? And Summer also be referred to as Perspire?

Thank Heaven I'm Not a Little Girl

Dear world,
With my niece Bunnybell here visiting, there are now 2 big boy and 2 little girl dogs in my house. And wow, do gender and size ever so make a difference. Those two little girls pitter patter around, bicker, instigate, jump up and down on furniture and compete for laps and chairs. This is so unlike me and Fuzz. We're just chill. We take life as it comes. Thank heaven I'm not a little girl. It seems way too stressful.

And then there were four

Dear world,
Just when I was finally starting to get used to the idea of being a three canine house, my human sis arrived with her dog/my niece Bunnybell for a visit. So now we are four, plus three humans. This change has had quite an impact on my life. For example, my sleep is interrupted, I get less ball time and I need to share my Mom with yet another dog, But I am not complaining. I love and am thankful for Rosy and Bunnybell and of course I adore Sydne . But I will admit it. I do find myself occasionally longing for the more simple moments of me and Fuzz and Mom and Dad.

Bear's football

Dear world,
When my Mom gave Fuzz and I a football, I decided I would want to be a quarterback since everyone tells me I am smart and I don't like to tackle others. So I went outside and practiced based on what I saw on TV. But I realized I needed to learn more. I wonder if I could buy a Bears Football Playbook. Maybe my family in Chicago could get it for me.

Clean Out the Fridge

Dear world,
I CANNOT believe we missed an important holiday! We just learned that November 15th was National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. Fuzz asked Mom if maybe there was a make up day. I am wondering if there is a National Clean Out You Freezer Day. That would be even better cause that is where the meat is. Well, if there isn't an official one yet, maybe I could set it for tomorrow? Do I need to get a petition going?

FuzzBuzz: I would not eat Rosy

Dear world,
Rosy doesn't do much but lay on her pink blanket and look pretty. Bear explained that she has to rest because she had surgery. He reminded me that I lay around a lot and do nothing and I have no excuse. Anyway, I don't think Rosy likes me. She growls when I come near her. She thinks I am going to eat her. I would not eat her, maybe her food, but not her. In fact, I actually like having her around. Whenever she gets a treat, I get a treat too cause Mom likes to treat all of us the same (no pun intended).

Tug of Stick

Dear world,
Lately, we have been taking off leash walks on the golf course in the evening. As part of the walk, Mom always throws a stick for Fuzz and I to catch. Fuzz is only interested in the same stick that I am. So we always end up playing Tug of Stick. Even though he is bigger, I usually win. And then I carry the stick home. Mom makes me leave it outside the door. I am starting to build up a collection. Maybe we can use it for firewood. For the money that saves the family, maybe I could have that as allowance. I am so enterprising.

Bear
