School Pizza

Dear world,

This past week, a bill passed in U.S. Congress that says that pizza counts as a serving of vegetables for school lunches as long as it has 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce on it. Not sure I totally understand considering tomatoes are a fruit. But they are lawmakers, so I guess now tomatoes are vegetables by law. Anyway, hearing about this law got me to thinking. Maybe I should go to school. That way I could have pizza everyday! And then I could study to be a politician and make more cool laws!

Happy Birthday Mickey !

Dear world,
Mickey Mouse's birthday is celebrated today because on this date 83 years ago, he debuted in the animated cartoon Steamboat Willie. But actually, this is more like Mickey's Gotcha Day. Cause he first was seen in a test screening of Plane Crazy May 15, 1928 but the audience didn't like him. Then he was in another short - The Gallopin Gaucho, but none of the distributors wanted him. So Mickey and I have that in common. We were both rejected twice until we found our forever home. Happy Gotcha Day Mickey!

Night Shopping

Dear world,

The other day we had a new adventure. We went night shopping! One of our fave pet stores stayed open at night to have a Holiday Open House. A lab left when I was arriving, and after that it was all small dogs. All the little dogs including Rosy were wearing something cute and Xmas red from the store. I felt like I walked into Santa's workshop with little elves. Thank goodness Mom didn't see a Santa suit in my size.

A beach walk

Dear world,
It was a beautiful day so Mom thought Rosy and I would enjoy a walk on the beach. She reminded me that I cant run into the ocean and Rosy that she cant run after the birds. And off we went. So we got to the beach and walked about a mile. Then of course we had to stop for pictures. But all I could do was longingly look at the surfers and think how lucky they are to be in the ocean. And all Rosy could do was look at the birds and think how lucky they are that she cant catch them and eat them.

A sweater for Rosy

Dear world,
At the mall the other day, Rosy wanted to stop at an outside shop that had dog stuff. She was very attracted to the bags of course. Mom said no more bags. So instead she bought Rosy a sweater. Rosy asked me what she needed a sweater for. I told her I have no clue. But I told her she looks very pretty in it.

Day at the mall

Dear world,

As you know I cant go to the beach for awhile. So Mom thought that maybe I would like to go to the mall with her. I really don't know where she gets these ideas. Anyway, the whole family went together. Dad was going to wait with me and Rosy outside, but Mom scooped up Rosy and went into Bloomingdale's. Rosy tried posing with the mannequins. Then I was excited cause we were headed to the Food Court. I saw the pizza place in front of me. But much to my dismay, Mom and Rosy decided they wanted tuna sandwiches! And Dad got one too! Tuna beats out pizza again! What is it with this family?

Dear world,

This weekend has been the Anipal Academy Awards on Twitter. So I got out my Golden Tux and Rosy found a matching Golden gown . And off we went trying to not be blinded by the pupparazzi on the Red Carpet. I was excited to be nominated for Best Blog, but I didn't win. The envelope went to a wonderful http://mattiedadog.blogspot.com/. But we were so surprised and happy because Fuzz won the Rainbow Bridge Dancing Award. He must still be doing his happy dance there. Congrats Fuzz.....you forever have a star in our hearts.

No beach

Dear world,

Yesterday was not a fun day. I had to go see Dr. Andy. Now don't get me wrong, I like him very much as a human. However, its not like I get to play with him. I had to get my annual shots. Ouch! And then my blabbermouth Mom told him she thought I had an ear infection. So Dr. Andy looked inside my ears. I HATE that. Yup, Mom was right. So I had to have my ears cleaned out and get ear drops. Double YUCK. And then if all that wasn't enough, I was told I cant go swimming for 5-7 days. How many ways can I say BUMMER!

Spa Day

Dear world,
Yesterday Rosy FINALLY had her spa day. As you can imagine, since she was such a messpot, she needed a lot of work. So while Rosy was in the spa mobile, it was my job to stand by to make sure everything was going OK. I asked Dad to keep me company while I was doing my job. He felt I should have belly massages since my role was so stressful. Then when Rosy was done, I was in charge of inspecting her. She looked and smelled like a poodle again so I gave my stamp of apoodle.

1 Topping Per 1000

Dear world,

A few days ago I reached 3000 followers on twitter. My Mom had promised when I reached that milestone she would order a pizza with three toppings - 1 topping per thousand. And I got to choose the toppings! After much deliberation I decided on sausage and bacon and chose chicken for Rosy. While we had to share it with Dad, I asked for and got 1 slice per 1000! Now I need to come up with another milestone pizza goal.

A leopard

Dear world.
The other day I was laying on my Mom's faux leopard blanket and it got me to thinking. What would it be like to be a leopard? Well, they are elusive, solitary and nocturnal. So I wouldn't like that since I like to be around people, get lots of attention and sleep at night . But like a leopard, I do hunt - that is I hunt tennis balls. But leopards live in wild very far away places. I wouldn't like that. I like to live at home with Mom, Dad and Rosy. But if I had leopard spots I would look quite fashionable, don't ya think?

Buddy

Dear world,
I would like to introduce you to my neighbor and buddy, Buddy. He is a really cool dog, and sometimes he plays ball with me. He used to come into our house to get treats but now Rosy won't let him. So he stays by the door and smiles. Then my Mom goes to my treat cabinet and takes out one treat and gives it to Buddy. That is when he becomes Mom's buddy Buddy.
