Yesterday I played with Brady. He is definitely my favorite friend. First of all, he loves to go swimming with me far out in the ocean jumping over the waves. He likes to chase the ball, but he always lets me get it. And like me, he never gets tired. The last time I played with him I left before he did . His Dad said he whimpered and went looking for me in the water. So this time we left together. Yah. Mom and Dad think hes really sweet. But, I think he is incredibly cool. Can you see his Mohawk cut ?

College Graduation

Dear world,
There are so many people graduating from college now. It got me to thinking...could I become a college graduate? Rosy said she would go to college with me so she could join a sorority. Well, I am only 9 so I will start saving up now. Rosy is already excited about wearing a pink cap and gown.

Memorial Day

Dear world,
It's Memorial Day Weekend.. Its a day to honor the memory of those that sacrificed their lives for America. Some people still call it Decoration Day. Mom also thinks of it as Dog Decoration Day. So here we are ready to celebrate.

Everyone has been talking about The Avengers movie. So it got me to thinking. If I was an Avenger, which one would I want to be. So I narrowed it down to Captain America and Thor. I really like them both. Which do you think fits me best?

Bear the Musician

Dear world,
We heard that today is Buy a Musical Instrument Day. Mom thinks it is wonderful to learn an instrument. So she went out and got me a woofer. It is very cool. I can press buttons and strum with my paw and make music. So now I am Bear the musician.

The other day Rosy said she had a secret. She said she will tell me but I can't tell anyone else. So she came over and whispered in my ear with her tuna breath. So now I have the secret. What am I supposed to do with it?

Artichoke

Dear world,
I heard that this weekend a big festival was going on Castroville, California to celebrate artichokes. That is a bit far away from where I live, but I am always up for a celebration. So I asked Mom what an artichoke was, so she brought one home. Now this is one weird vegetable. It looks bizarre and I have no idea how to eat it. Rosy says it must be good since Marilyn Monroe was the first Artichoke Queen in 1948. How does she know these things?

No trespassing

Dear world,
The other day after a full beach swim morning I went for a walk. I had to go to the bathroom so bad after all that ocean water I drank. So I saw I nice open spot that seemed perfect and fairly private. Mom asked me if I noticed the sign. I said of course I did, it said no trespassing. But it didn't say No Trespeeing.

Diet Food

Dear world,
Ever since I had to go on a diet, Mom gives me baby carrots instead of another 1/4 cup of my kibble. I eat the carrots cause I am starved. But in protest, I always leave one carrot. I want her always to remember that I am a carnivore, not a carrotivore.

Ahoy Mom !

Dear world,
It's Mother's Day ! We starting celebrating Saturday by taking Mom on a Hornblower cruise around San Diego Bay. (We canines were allowed because it was Pet Day on the Bay). And because we love Mom so much, we all dressed in our nautical attire. By the way, if you ever want lots of admiration and attention from family or strangers, just be a dog wearing a sailor hat..

Swimming!

Dear world,

YAY! I got to go swimming. I wasn't allowed to run, I had to walk into the water and not come out. Mom wore shorts so she could walk in with me. The waves were really big which was so much fun. And it was fun to watch Mom jump to miss the waves, but she didn't jump high enough. Luckily she has a waterproof camera!

Lost Sock Memorial Day

Dear world,

When I found out that today was Lost Sock Memorial Day, I decided to look for all the unmatched socks in the house. Then I gathered them and layed them on the floor to pay my respects. I reflected upon how they were once part of a couple, serving to warm and protect my Mom and Dad's feet. Rosy came over and asked what I was doing. When I told her, she started laughing right in front of the lonely socks. She is just so disrespectful sometimes.

The other day I took a short beach walk with Mom. I knew I wasn't going swimming and there was no way Mom was going to throw me a ball. But I was really in the mood to play catch. So I turned round and round and round and caught my tail. That was fun!

Please Mom?

Dear world,
I am doing better so the vet said I can very gradually go back to normal activity, but no off leash running for a while. So I get to go for short walks on the beach, but no swimming. Mom said maybe soon, just for a bit and those famous words "we'll see". So I have been using every "please" face that I know. Could you refuse me?

Happy Cinco De Mayo

Dear world,
Hola! Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of the triumph of a small Mexican army over French forces in a historical battle in 1862. It is also special time to celebrate Mexican heritage and culture. So Rosy and I discussed how we want to celebrate. Well, first, we want to sing with a Mariachi band. Then we want to go to a bar -- a taco bar and be overserved!

Run for the Roses

Dear world,
Its Kentucky Derby time! So 50,000 people are going to head to Churchill Downs for the big race and festivites. We live too far away to go, not that we would be allowed anyway. So Rosy and I donned our hats and imagined what we would do if we were there. First, we would bet on the horses named Daddy (there are two). Next I would order Rosy a Tuna Julep and myself a Pizza Julep. And then Rosy said we would watch the Run for the Rosy..

Firefighters Day

Dear world,

It is International Firefighters Day. I recently had my own personal experience with firemen  The fire alarm went off in our house. It was a false alarm thank dogness, but the firemen came immediately and checked to make sure. I personally thanked them for being so awesome. Then I went back upstairs to rescue Rosy who was still hiding under the bed.

Rosy's Crab Hunt

Dear world,
The other day Mom took Rosy on a beach walk. When they came back, Rosy told me all about her crab hunt. She said she found so many crabs. She was thinking about taking one as a pet, but they had all gone over raincrab bridge. So then Rosy asked Mom if she would make her a crab salad sandwich. Mom said no. So Rosy peed on all the crabs she found so they would be marked as her's until she figured out what to do with them. That's my sister!
